About a hundred kilometres south of Tangier, the small town of Jajouka in the Moroccan Riff mountains shelters the tomb of the Islamic saint Sidi Ahmed Sheikh, and also the brotherhood of the Jajouka Musicians. After centuries attending the royal court, they were forced to return to their mountains when the Europeans colonisers arrived. Their art, thought to have healing powers, is ancestral with roots in Ancient Persia.
